Sapa

Located in Vietnam’s remote northwest mountains, close to both China and Laos, Sapa is the frontier town of Sapa District, Lao Cai province. Travel websites has honestly reflected the real Sapa in the vivid images of flower blossom, foggy forest covered mountain, hill tribe villages, cascading rice terraces and the smiling local in diversified costume.

Sapa lies at the altitude of 1600 meters, in the shadows of Indochina’s tallest peak Mount Fansipan. The rugged mountainous scenery has made the most beautiful background for stunning waterfalls, street markets, flowers gardens, terraced fields and colorful villages. Sapa, with its lush, deep river valleys, are home to H’mong, Dao, Tay and Giay ethnic groups, who have maintained their strong traditions and hospitality. A day trek or a homestay at a villages scattered around the town will be a memorable experience for any traveler.

Sapa weather has always been something worth mentioning. The dry season in Sapa lasts from December to May, with December and January are the coldest and foggiest months. Sometimes, there may be snowfall on the highest peaks. When the fog starts to be over, and the rainy season has not yet to come, Sapa offer excellent days, which last form March to May. The wet season starts in June and last until the end of August, however, it is warm during this time of year. The window from September to the beginning of December is a rewarding time to be in Sapa, though there is a bit of lingering rain at the start and the temperature dips by mid-December.
