Nha Trang

Vietnam’s most popular beach town, Nha Trang has the reputation of having probably one of the best beaches in Vietnam, mountains meeting the ocean and pristine offshore islands. The glamour of crystal turquoise water, silver sands and bright sun have made Nha Trang a paradise of totally relaxation - a place for swimming, party and sun bathing.

There are many things to enjoy in Nha Trang: cruising the water of Nha Trang Bay – one of the most beautiful bays of the World, stopping to swim or visit a fishing village, diving or snorkeling to admire a splendid world of coral and fish right under the water, taking a cyclo ride along the beachfront boulevard Tran Phu to the city’s market (cho Dam) or tasting the local seafood at one of the many refined eateries.

Nha Trang has one of the world’s classic city beaches - including Nha Trang Beach – 6kms of white sand, palm trees, sea breezes and warm waters. Many comes to the beach for the best moment when the sunrises. Not far away from the beaches are the ancient Cham towers of Po Nagar built from the 7th Century by the former Cham rulers of southern Vietnam. Po Nagar offers beautiful views over the Cai River. 

Other visiting places include the villas of the former emperor Bao Dai, located in a spectacular surround, Long Son Pagoda – featuring excellent city views and an ornate interior, Nha Trang Cathedral – an impressive colonial edifice built in the late 1920s and Pasteur Institute - founded in 1895 and now includes an interesting museum recording the work of Dr. Yersin. If you have never had a mud bath, take your chance at Thap Ba Hot Springs, one of Nha Trang’s most popular attractions. There are single and double mud bath tubs filled with fresh warm mud, a hot spring with a waterfall and a huge naturally heated swimming pool.

As might be expected given its location, Nha Trang’s cuisine features plenty of fresh seafood. Eating out is a popular local activity, and the town is peppered with many relaxed, open-air eateries serving tasty and inexpensive local fare. In recent years, numerous new restaurants have opened up along the beachfront, and there are also many places along Le Loi St past the Post Office and along Hung Vuong and Biet Thu Sts.
